The Beeginning Of Something

The Beeginning Of Something

Like all great success stories, mine begins with a source of inspiration, and yes, I am already premeditating my life to be an epic success story, so stay tuned for the years and posts to come.

So I just wrote my very first sentence of my very first blog, and it’s a run-on… coming from the girl with an English minor, I’m ashamed, but I digress.

Back to why you’re here: me.

I’ve always loved writing, and I’ve always had a lot to say, however, I haven’t always had the courage or motivation to share my thoughts with others, let alone publically, but that ends today. Not only have a I recently felt an overwhelming desire to share what I have to say with the world (AKA the handful of friends that I have who will read this… and also my mom), but being a recent college graduate has left me gainfully unemployed (or as I like to say, funemployed), so I literally have more free time than I know what to do with. What better way to spend this free time than to chip away at a life-long dream of mine- to start a blog of my own.

Beautiful, brave, brilliant, and beloved are all words I would use to describe that source of inspiration, which I had mentioned before - my sister, Carly. The word she has chosen to describe me, and my nickname of several years – bee (usually BB). Some years ago, my sister had adopted the annoyingly adorable habit of calling me BB, and since then, it has spread throughout my family and friend group, and has become part of my identity, or my bee-ing (this is just the beginning of so, so many stupid puns). And while it started as a simple nickname, the bee has become a very important and special part of my life… So much so, that you can find it permanently perched on the inside of my right arm (SORRY MOM & DAD).

As my obsession with the bee has grown over the years, my reasons for loving it have grown as well. In terms of scientific evidence, the bumblebee should not be able to fly because its body is too large for its wings. Aerodynamically, it makes no sense, and should be impossible, but the bee proves that the impossible simply does not exist, and therefore she has proven herself unstoppable; that is the ultimate dream, is it not?  Hence, thebeewrd – your new source of punny, informative, and occasionally saucy entertainment. You’re welcome in advance.

I plan on setting no guidelines for this space; no topics are off limits. So as I keep this blog open and free, I ask that as you’re reading, you keep your mind the same way, please don’t take me too seriously- if you haven’t already noticed by now, I’m occasionally a tad sarcastic.  As of now, I can’t promise you much, but I can assure that you will see content centered around fashion, felines, food, friends and feminism… and hopefully you’ll get a laugh or two as well.

I’m so excited to start this journey, and I’m even more excited to bring you with me. So here’s to the future and following me, wherever that may bee.

XOXO,
Lexie
BB
